Contents
The Song Editor can be adapted to how you write songs: its toolbar, the quick chord bar and the template for new songs. These options are in the editor's settings (see Song Editor).
Editor
- Size – text size of the editor (slider, shown as a multiple, e.g. 1.0x). Font style (regular or monospaced) and the quick chord bar limit are described in Tools.
- Text focus mode – hides distractions so you can concentrate on the text.
Toolbar
The toolbar above the keyboard holds chord helpers and your own buttons.
- Used Chords – a row with the chords already used in this song.
- Key Chords – a row with the chords that belong to the song's key (I, ii, iii, IV, V …).
- Chord Input – the quick chord bar (see Song Editor).
Custom buttons
Add your own buttons for text you type often – for example a section header, a directive or a chord pattern:
- Tap Add button.
- Enter a Label (what the button shows) and the Text to insert. Put
[chord]-style text, section names or whole lines in it. Switch on Multiline for more than one line. - Optionally choose a Keyboard Shortcut key so you can insert the text from an external keyboard.
Swipe a button to Edit or Delete it.
New song template
The New song template is the text a new song starts with – for example your usual section headers. Edit it here and every new song will begin with it.
