Themes

Contents

JustChords can be made to look the way you like: pick a color theme, switch to Dark Mode, choose how the sidebar behaves and decide what the library sidebar shows. Everything is in the Main menu (menu icon) under Appearance and Settings.

Color themes

Open Main menu → Appearance → Theme and swipe through the previews. The theme sets the accent color of the whole app.

Juicy Blue, Juicy Green, Juicy Red, Juicy PurpleBrighter, more saturated variants
  • On iPhone and iPad the app icon follows the theme (Classic and Blue use the standard icon). Changing the icon is not possible on Mac and inside the AUv3 plugin.
  • The theme picker is not shown when JustChords runs as an AudioUnit plugin plugin; it follows the host's appearance.

Dark Mode

Dark mode switches the app to a dark appearance. When it is on, two more switches appear:

  • Dark PDF sheet music – PDF sheet music is displayed with inverted colors so it matches the dark theme. Turn it off to keep PDF pages white.
  • Dark ABC notation – draws ABC Notation to match the dark theme (default). Turn it off for notation on a white backdrop.

The song library sidebar can float over the song or be fixed next to it.

  • iPad – choose Portrait mode and Landscape mode separately: Floating or Fixed.
  • iPhone – a single Style setting.

Customize the sidebar

Tap Customize to decide what the sidebar contains (Customize Sidebar screen):

  • Songs – All songs is always there; switch Tags, Artists, Keys and Recents on or off (see Song List).
  • Setlists – show Upcoming (by event date) and Last Modified setlists as widgets and choose how many are shown: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 (see Setlists).
  • Tools – shortcuts to New Window, Tuner, Metronome, PlayTogether, Chord Library, MIDI Library (when MIDI is enabled) and Recordings. Drag to reorder, swipe to remove and use Add … to bring one back. Which tools exist depends on your device.
